Over the weekend, I gave my first public reading from the book I am publishing, The Sacred Unfolding.
It wasn’t until I finished reading that the experience truly landed in me.
The profoundness of this moment. Of this season of my life. Of standing before others and speaking words from a book that I had allowed to meet me and be written through me.
There was a time when this book was something I could feel but could not yet hold in my hands. A nudge. A knowing. An invitation to give my time, my presence, and my voice to something whose full shape I could not yet see.
And this weekend, I was reading it aloud. Allowing something that had met me so intimately to meet other people.
I could feel how much trust had brought me to that moment.
Trust in myself.
Trust in the book.
Trust in the process.
Trust in my relationship with this life.
I didn’t know every step when I began. I discovered them through listening, responding, and returning to what was asking to be expressed.
And that is exactly what this book is about.
The Sacred Unfolding has asked me to live what I was writing. To allow the unknown. To honor the timing. To participate in what was taking shape without needing to control everything it would become.
After the reading, I felt the beauty of that so deeply.
I had trusted something I could feel before I could see it.
And now, I was witnessing it enter the world.
