More Than the Moment-
3-day training
How Triggers Carry the Weight of the Past
Often, the intensity of our reactions has less to do with what’s happening now
and more to do with everything our system associates with it.
A single moment can activate a whole network of past experiences—memories, emotions, and relational imprints that feel strikingly familiar.
In this mini course, we explore how emotional experiences stack, overlap, and echo across time, creating reactions that feel bigger than the present moment alone. You’ll learn how to recognize when you’re responding to what’s actually occurring, versus when your body is also reliving older, related experiences.
This understanding doesn’t just change your relationship with yourself—it changes how you relate to others. You’ll begin to see how the people in your life are often responding from layered experiences as well, carrying their own histories into the present moment. With this awareness, it becomes possible to create space rather than escalation, curiosity rather than defense.
Through awareness and somatic insight, you’ll learn how to gently separate what belongs to now from what belongs to then—both in yourself and in your relationships. This creates more choice in how you respond, more clarity in moments of conflict, and a deeper capacity for compassion when you or someone else is speaking from the past rather than the present.
