“How is that serving you”.
It is a question I ask myself a lot. Whenever I feel resistance or feel stuck in a situation, it is a natural question to ask myself. It is a simple question, it really is. It is 5 words, yet, those 5 words create an immediate growth opportunity for me each time I ask them.
The question immediately places you in a position of power. You can’t play the victim when you ask yourself this question. If it does not serve you then you get the opportunity to make changes. Being a victim never serves me, never. It is not something I want to embrace or accept in my life.
“How is that serving you”
It feels like a question that strips all of the bullshit away. Sometimes, in life we find that the background noise and bullshit in life can be so loud that it is hard to even hear yourself think. It has always been unsettling for me when I find the background bullshit noise of life too loud. Sometimes, I don’t notice it. Sometimes, it sneaks up on me. It is a slow increase in volume until one day I find myself ungrounded and unsettled. The moment that I pause, I realize that the background bullshit noise is maxed out. This question strips all of the bullshit away. It creates immediate silence. It creates immediate clarity. It creates immediate growth.
The next time you find yourself stuck, try these 5 words “how is that serving you” and wait for the magick to happen.
