How do we get to a place in life where we don’t know what brings us joy and happiness? How does that really happen?

So, what if the thing that determined how much you enjoyed the experience was actually inside your head, it was your mindset, but you assumed it was external.

Contrast and perspective are powerful. Sometimes, you need to take a little run in the mid-day sun during a heatwave to really appreciate the shade.

We seek healing and knowledge from so many sources and often we overlook one of the largest and best teachers who we will ever know, mother earth.

Have you ever seen a tree that allows other trees to grow underneath it? The tree offers protection from hash winds while the younger tree establishes roots and grounds itself. Eventually, the young trees won’t need protection, but right now it offers security for their longevity.

On my run that day, it quickly became obvious to me that my technique was all over the place. My right hand crossed the midline of my body with every arm pump. It was a lateral motion rather than a motion that moved me forward.

Initially it just started with irritation, the sock just didn’t feel right. I thought if I wiggled my toes, acknowledged it, and then try to put it out of my mind that it would go away. The farther I ran, the more obvious the bunch in the sock became.

“I want a roof over my head”

“Right, but we don’t start building a house with a roof. If you don’t build a solid foundation and base then the roof won’t stay up or offer shelter.”

What is funny about the crumbs at the bottom of the bag of chips is that while they are full of flavor, they are all broken and just fragments of the whole that you wanted, they leave you wanting more and you often feel unfulfilled.

“Can I have a hug?” he asked.

“Of course you can, baby” I said back.

He was ungrounded and dysregulated. Every time he interacted with this particular individual he would become ungrounded and dysregulated. It broke my heart and was also out of my control.
