Grapes

Grapes grow on the edge of the pastures that my neighbor owns. I see them in the fall as I run. I love the smell of them as they get ripe at the end of August and early September, it brings sweetness to my whole day.

Elderberry seeds

I was walking the driveway, as a cool down, on the way back from a run and saw her. I am confident I walked past her all spring without noticing her. It wasn’t that she wasn’t there. It wasn’t that she wasn’t beautiful. I just hadn’t seen her.

Holding space, in my bed

I pulled the covers open and slid inside. There was something about the way the fresh sheets felt on my bare skin that I welcomed on a deep level. I needed softness right then. I needed gentleness right then. I needed comfort right then. I needed support right then. I needed a safe place to let my guard down.
